Dj51-50 hands down made my wedding a hit! He had everyone dancing from 9 years old all the way to my Grandparents. He was so organized, professional, and the wedding went so smoothly. DJ 51-50 was an amazing experience for my reception. Everyone has been complimenting on his show....the comments came from musicians, filmmakers, producers, dancers...and of course, family and friends. He was a professional, always ready to make the event a stellar quality experience. He worked very naturally with many genres of music (jazz, electronic, latin, rock, hip-hop, alternative, pop), and had great sense of when to play what. His light show is second to none in Jackson. DJ 51-50 absolutely MADE our wedding. Phillip did the ceremony music as well as the reception. He was very patient with me and my thousands of phone calls and emails as I was the typical bride... A very dear friend and coworker, Tricia Price, recommended DJ 51-50. After all of the positive things she said, Phillip was the obvious choice. He more than met all expectations, and showed our guests such a wonderful time. My husband is the typical "Mississippi Country Boy," and I love all genres of music. Needless to say we had a plethora of music requests, and all were met with professionalism and an eagerness to please. Phillip had (or obtained) every song request we made! It is evident that Phillip genuinely enjoys entertaining, and he reads the guests/crowd very well. DJ51-50 was punctual, and he made my wedding/reception dreams come true. I could not recommend another DJ with more integrity. Do not hire Phillip unless you want to have the time of your life and dance the night away! I am proud to have referred him to many friends. DJ51-50 gets a TEN in our book hands down.

We had Phillip to DJ our wedding reception this spring (2011) and we could not have been more pleased with his professional approach to the whole night. By the time we arrived at the reception the mood had already been set. Phillip was standing by waiting to announce us as the new bride and groom we were, and the atmosphere he had already created for us was absolutely perfect. From the lights, to the line-up of songs he had selected, the night really could not have gone any better. For a family that I really didn't see getting out on the dance floor to shake a leg or two, he managed to have the whole room moving to the beat! Whether it was a song to slow dance to or a song to put your sunglasses on for, he knew what to play and when to play it. I can honestly say that the most fun wedding reception I have ever been to would have to be my own, all thanks to Phillip. For my wedding reception, one of my biggest concerns was music.. The best decision I made was getting Phillip to DJ at my reception.What we got out of Phillip wasn't just music, it was truly amazing entertainment. With his friendly and lively personality, he helped bring everything together. He had amazing music and was very welcoming to new requests. The lights that he used throughout the night made the place change completely and feel like you were in a major dance area; it was awesome!! Also, I got soo many compliments on the light figure "GOBO" he had on the wall of our name (bride and groom) and wedding date as well as the music itself and how nice Phillip was.
I would love to use Phillip again in the future and hope that he continues to make other couples' receptions just as great as he did mine.

I highly recommend Mr. Phillip Cothern’s services as a DJ to whatever event you are considering. Phillip hosted my daughter’s wedding reception at Luckett Lodge & more than exceeded my expectations. He not only provided the entertainment he created a atmosphere 2nd to none like any other wedding reception I have ever attended. His attention to detail was only surpassed by his courtesy to my daughter & his professional manner of handling the evening’s activities from start to finish. His coordination with Luckett Lodge in setting up & cleaning up left one less thing I had to deal with that evening. Below are a few points that come to mind about that very important evening in my daughter’s life.
· $$$$$$$$: More than fair.
· Planning/Coordination: Phillip met without any hesitation with my daughter before the wedding at her convenience planning the flow of the evening’s songs from beginning to end.
· Much more than a DJ: What I mean by that is I had no idea lights, fog………..was included along with the music to help set the mood.
· Courteous/Professional: By meeting with myself, my wife, my other daughters in order to get a well rounded idea on how the evenings
ac activities should flow. He could have simply drawn the line with meeting with my daughter but went the extra mile by getting additional input at no additional cost.
· Qualified: Phillip’s selection of songs was 2nd to none. You name it he had it & if he didn’t he got it. He didn’t cut corners.
· Above & beyond the call of duty. What I mean by this was I imposed on his time & talents with a special request which he did not hesitate in honoring. I gave him several pictures of my daughter growing up & he put together a slide show to a very appropriate song that he played for the Father/Daughter
dance it was truly a nice touch. Something I feel he didn’t have to do but by doing so it really set the mood for the evening & for that I will always be grateful.

Hey Phillip, Sorry it has taken so long to write this, but I thought better late than never!!
Phillip was the DJ to my wedding at Luckette Lodge in November. He truly did an amazing job and met my expectations above and beyond. I am so happy I chose him to DJ my wedding...and could not be happier with the outcome! Phillip made the effort to sit down with me before the wedding and talk things through with me which was great because he has a lot of experiences with weddings and music...and I don't! He allowed me several weeks to compile a list of my favorite songs that I wanted played at the wedding. I was able to take my time and discuss it with my family. He also gave me great advice on what type of music to choose and when to play what. He made everyone at the reception feel so comfortable and it was absolutely impossible not to get out there and dance! When it was time to go home no one wanted to leave the party and kept giving him requests! I wanted my wedding to be remembered for being a good time to everyone and Phillip definitely made that happen! I had so much fun dancing and listening to the music that I wish I could do it all over again! Phillip really made the effort to make it personal and special to me as a bride and I truly appreciate that. I cannot thank him enough for such a wonderful job at my wedding that I will never forget! When Eric and I started looking for a DJ we weren't sure who to ask. We knew that we wanted fun, new age and old music for our guests of all ages to enjoy. Phillip gave us an awesome wedding reception experience!!! My friends and family are still talking about how great the music was. My bridesmaids especially loved how they could requestsongs. The lights and bubbles made an awesome addition to our music. I have been to weddings where the DJ played only slow boring music and no one danced. At our wedding, this was not the case!!! There was not a person sitting down. Even my 89 year old grandmother danced!!! Thank you so much to Phillip for making our wedding reception a blast!!!

His price was amazing – he was less than everyone else, he had a lot to offer –lights-lasers-Gobo-bubbles-smoke, and he was very easy to talk to with plenty of suggestions! DJ 51-50 provided services for our wedding and reception. You know when someone tells you their set-up is really good?, but when you see it
you are not impressed, well....THAT IS NOT THE CASE HERE!!! The sound system, the lighting, the look of everything was phenomenal.
He even had me and wife's name projected on the walls as a background which really added a classy yet technological WOW!!! factor to the wedding.
So you would think that with all this great equipment he would just sit back and let the great sounding music and lights do all the work ........... WRONG. !
He and his wife kept our guests involved and entertained, young and old alike, performing introductions, announcements, and keeping the wedding and reception flowing flawlessly with a great sense of fun and professionalism. I also failed to mention all the pre-wedding preparation and ideas he provided. Phillip and his wife, Kelly are just great people, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

My wife and I booked DJ 5150 (Phillip) for our wedding reception and he exceeded our expectations. From the start, Phillip was in contact withus
making playlists, plans for the lights, etc. He even gave up some of his own Saturday to come to the reception hall the week before to get the layout
of the room. There was nothing that we requested that he did not do.
Our guests were so pleased because he would even take requests from them. Phillip definitely made the reception the hit that it was. As for "would we
